The restaurant, located in the heart of Duffel, is nondescript from the outside. The decor on the inside, though, is stylish but warm.

The service was truly outstanding The staff was attentive without being intrusive. They were happy to answer any questions we had, even though we only speak English. I had cheese for desert and the presentation was entertaining - the young man took time to explain each cheese and enthusiastically carved, shaved, or crumbled each cheese to present it in its best light. Both my wife and I had the tasting menu; she had the wine pairing but I skipped as I was driving. The food was inventive - creative combinations delighted the palate - but Chef Thierry Theys is happy to make the food the center of attention instead of trying too hard to make himself look clever.

Presentation was beautiful, too. The dinner ware is very natural - stone and earthenware - and the food is arranged artfully. My wife and I visited recently for dinner and ate a-la-carte. We both enjoyed our meals but there was nothing that made us go wow. For a starter I took the langoustine which consisted of one cooked langoustine and one carpaccio with a few small For the main course the I took the beef, the highlight of which was the salad sprinkled with truffle.

My wife took the pigeon which again she enjoyed but didn't rave about. For the wines I felt that there weren't too many bottles at the lower price point though the two bottles we considered were fairly priced for a restaurant - Phelan Segur Saint Estephe at 95euro which is around 41euro in the shops and Sociando Mallet at 90euro which can be bought at about 33euro. This was our second visit to the restaurant, the first was around 3 years ago and we felt that the first visit when we tok the menu was better.

Colours, textures, composition: very, very impressive! I can imagine this swoops you away. But alas. This excellence is not matched in taste. In fact, is was disappointing. This is a harsh review. Appetizers were a mixed bag overly complicated oyster, but a nice foie prepartion.

Same for the rest of the menu. Crab came on two separate plates: one very too? I wish the next one came on two plates as well. A beautiful and big langoustine, perfectly grilled, perfect meat. The rest of the dish, inspired by risotto, proved a mismatch. Colliding, not contrasting or enhancing, strong cheese taste. Some pecorino cream that tasted like a concentrate. Enjoyed the langoustine, ate the rest and thought of it as another and just OK dish.

After the allright miniature piece of turbot came even more power with the veal. All umami and salty, not balanced by that dash of salty Monotonic, almost boring flavor as a result. Some obvious faults in the preparation as well.

Small pieces of crab shell in the crab meat on 2 of the 4 plates. And a very unpleasant, tooth aching crunch in an appetizer. Same goes for the service. Asked for a very dry aperitif, were given a sweet, very round champagne.

And some more nagging details. We were the last company present at I swear I could hear them wish we would leave so their day was over. No sign of the chef BTW. I actually hope so The last two months, I had better and better wines!

Parking can be found on a plaza a short walk away. The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated, with beautiful attention for the lights. We had The start was very impressive and the remaining courses were good as well, though when comparing the overall experience and taste with some experiences in other Michelin star restaurants, we were not overwhelmed. Still very good ofc, but considering the price and 2star rating, we preferred the other restaurants we visited.
